The Toronto International Film Festival is the leading public film festival in the world, screening more than 300 films from 60+ countries every September. Their programmers have earned a reputation for excellence, and a diverse array of films are shown: Hollywood galas, complete with red carpet glamour; the best in international cinema, the latest homegrown comedies… and everything in between. TIFF films are divided into Programmes to help guide your choices. Love horror flicks? Check out Midnight Madness! Feeling edgy? Try Vanguard. Need a mini stay-cation? Contemporary World Cinema may be for you. We have been supportive of the TIFF since our inception...you missed this year's festivities but you can look back on it via their WEBSITE...and plan now for next year!

Richard Pryor...arguably the funniest man to ever pick up a microphone and tell jokes has been brought back to life yet again in a new Showtime documentary. We have been down this road before-Comedy Central did a doc on Mr. Pryor some years ago called "I'm Not Dead Yet!" (expletives deleted) that was overseen by his last wife and featured commentary by many of his peers. But this one proves to be as good and better with even more celebrities chiming about not just the funniest moments but also his more tragic realities as well. If you are familiar with the RP story (see "JoJo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling") then you already know. You should see that as Richard Pryor himself is starring in it along with actor-friend Debbie Allen and many others. We thought that film said all that needed to be said...but after these documentaries you will learn more-and even be haunted by how his very essence seems to come alive on screen. Enjoy the trailer HERE. #filmstogo editors, Freedom & Martina, Mix To Go Magazine Want us to see and review your film? [email protected] or a message through our SUBSCRIBE page. Mix To Go Magazine's 64th issue was released nearly three (3) weeks ago (July 3, always the first Wednesday of the month). Subscribers always get it when it is released; members of "Mix To Go Massive" can get half the magazine FREE (send an email to [email protected] to find out about free and paid membership), and if you are reading this for the first time then you are likely here as a new member, a friend of a member or possibly...search results!
This issue features four (4) new mixes from various categories of music ((#inthemixtogo)). There are many other mixes available (again you need to be a subscriber to get them!) but only these make the cut as our very best of the month. #mixtogomassive is how you will get the latest info on us each day...primarily focused on our NYC activities but also beyond. #mixtogomiami-our 2nd team in Miami which launched late May of this year-features info about our activities there. Each issue we will feature a mix from a Miami style musically (see ppages but age 7 for the first example). Other hash tags are focused on various other areas. Our print magazine is 16 pages and features info about Amplified Talent Bookings, as well as monthly music playlists (#amplified), travel-oriented events (#socialtravelers, see the back page/page 16) and of course DJ FREEDOM (#djfreedomlives). You will occasionally see charity, fund raising and philanthropic efforts via Community Square (#communitysq) as well as words of wisdom from various members of Mix To Go Massive that always end with #stayintune. We may just say that because at the end of the day, that applies to all that we do! A new area of the magazine is about films/movies #filmstogo...we have the online page up of course but haven't had time to maintain the content! We need writers so if you love movies as much as we do, please send us an email or post to our FACEBOOK page for more info. While we have your attention, please do become a subscriber. There are lots of perks (see previous posts on our home page) and we are always upgrading, thanks to readers who give us feedback (you know the whole world has an opinion, like it or not). Stay in touch, and of course, #stayintune. ;D Freedom & Martina Justice Editors, Mix To Go Magazine This, ladies and gentlemen, is the newest issue of Mix To Go. We continue to bring you the best new music mixed, remixed and mashed up by our team of Ds; the best parties and special events; #amplified charts you can count on to keep you current with what our DJs spin and artists you should know about. We also invite you to join Mix To Go Massive if you have been watching from the sidelines, or are new to the movement we've been building since 2008. We've also returned our 4th department "Community Square (aka "C-Sq").
You can subscribe by sending an email to [email protected] or call (305) 707-4730. You can also attend one of the events listed in the newest issue of Mix To Go Mag and get a free copy or join our Facebook GROUP "Mix To Go Massive" and watch for announcements about our promotions to get free and discounted membership. We would like to thank you for stopping by and we hope you #stayintune. It is our goal to present the best in cutting-edge entertainment through our still-unique, one-of-a-kind observations. Summer's here...hope you are enjoying it! Freedom || Freedom Normally when I post this blog I'll include a look at an upcoming issue of Mix To Go Magazine.
It IS ready but you'll have to wait until Wednesday to see it. JUNE is a trifecta for us: Black Music Month, Caribbean Heritage Month and HBO'S American Black Film Festival happening in Miami. This new issue will feature coverage of all three-via new mixes, events on our calendar and more. Speaking of films my Wife and I were looking at all time film lists and decided to craft one of our own...that will be featured in the next issue as well. If you have a top 10/20/100 list send it to us...if you can make notes about them as well (although we consider ourselves very knowledgeable) that would help. If you are interested in helping with articles (travel enthusiasts and party goers take note!), ad sales people and reps who live in Atlanta, Las Vegas and Atlantic City send us a note: [email protected].
